Robotic Welding Cell for Small Railway Carriage Components

The robotic welding cell is designed for the automated welding of small railway carriage components, ensuring consistent weld quality and high process repeatability.
The solution is intended for railway carriage manufacturers seeking to improve welding efficiency, reduce manual operations, and ensure consistent results in the serial production of small assemblies.

The process is organized around an operator-assisted part loading sequence. During the beam assembly stage, one welding operator performs the initial assembly. The completed assembly is then transferred by an overhead jib crane into a welding fixture mounted on the positioner of the robotic cell. This arrangement enables seamless integration of the cell into the existing production flow.
The cell is equipped with a laser seam-tracking system that accurately detects the weld joint position and automatically corrects the welding trajectory. The system operates autonomously under operator supervision, ensuring process stability and safe operation.

Key Benefits

  • Automated welding of small railway carriage components;
  • High weld positioning accuracy enabled by laser seam tracking;
  • Integration into the existing production process;
  • Consistent weld quality;
  • Autonomous operation under operator supervision.

Implementation Results
